Wow so I was out for nearly 2 weeks. Good grief! Well, you knew what was going on, so this is totally expected, right?!… Well, I’m back now. Good news first! My laptop has been ‘raised from the dead’. Bad news : some data I managed to transfer out to a backup USB drive, but the laptop hard drive had to be wiped clean for the reinstallation. No matter what method I tried to revive it, with the exception of mouth-to-mouth resuscitation of course, the laptop would not boot on its own.  It was a hard decision to pull the plug. I almost cried! Then, another thing, I couldn’t find my original rescue disk that I made 4,5 years ago. So I ended up have to research, and found a way to rebuild the rescue disk from the special “i386″ folder created by the original manufacturer. Thanks Dell! Well, that one was in supposed to be in the ‘good news’ section.

Anyway, the laptop is getting back in shape now. I still need to dress it up with my tool-of-trades software set, but it’s basically up and running. I even attempted to partition the drive and tried the Window 7 Beta on it. It booted up nicely and all but there are still some drivers setup wouldn’t run on Window 7. It is not running all the potential features of Window 7 yet, so I still booted up in XP Pro. Yeah, my laptop is old. It’s not even dual-core, or core 2 duo. I really want a new one. Oops, you’re not supposed to hear that, my laptop! Well let’s be honest here, if I have the dough, (and the approval of my wife, of course), I’ll drop you baby! Bye byeeeee, love!! Awww, don’t cry now! Don’t make that hard drive clicking noise. You’re still OK. You still suffice. You still… complete me!!
