Gotta learn vegetables

I have a problem with some herbs, fishes, and vegetables. It’s not really a big problem, but I can’t remember their names, or can’t tell which is which in some cases. When my wife prepared foods and she was out of certain green herb, she asked me to go buy for her. I ended up grabbing 3-4 different kinds (since they all look very similar to me, and I don’t associate their Vietnamese names with English names well either). Only to get home and find out none of the herbs I grabbed was what my wife wanted. So usually she handles this department.

So here is another funny story. I went grocery shopping on Saturday and saw this long cucumber-like squash. I picked it up and thought it was luffa, (or loofah??) (Vietnamese: muop) thinking I can make a stir-fried with it later in the week. Yesterday, when I prepared cooking, it turned out  I picked up a winter melon instead. Yeah, silly me!! But oh well, it cooked well with chicken, and it tastes just fine. Thank you very much! But I will stick with potatoes, carrot, or common vegetable that I know for now.
