Tax Season

I’m relieved that I got my tax done, last night!!! Yes!!! One more thing off my to-do list.

libertytax You know it’s a tax season when … you see men ridiculously dress in Statue of Liberty costume, stand around street corner, hold big sign and wave at you. They are hired workers, advertising for Liberty Tax service of course. Advertisement using costume or mascot is nothing new, though we used to not seeing much that style of marketing here in Colorado Springs. However, I remember about 4-5 years back, Liberty Tax did that and then the local news channel featured them on an evening news show.  Suddenly, many local companies copied the idea. Now, that form of advertising can be seen anywhere around town. Especially, Little Caesar pizza!!

Anyway, on my way to work, I always drive by this main intersection. There stands a middle-age man who also dresses in Statue of Liberty costume advertising for Liberty Tax. And, he takes the job quite seriously. He, like, looks at every car window as it drives by, and waves his hand, smiling and stuff. People get used to him, some greets him back, some honks. Maybe he gets paid if people come in? Maybe he’s the owner? Who knows!! But his friendly attitude definitely shows. Do we show that attitude in our workplace?

[It's not him in the picture. This is some random picture I grabbed from Google image]

  1. Yeah, I agree with you. Those people are so silly, waiving all around. I don’t think it is safe for drivers in a havy traffic.
