We’ve been spoiled with warm and beautiful weather for the last couple months. This blizzard now just rules the fun for us. Well it has been forewarned and anticipated from the beginning of the week. Though you just can’t trust the weatherman, but truly, this snow storm is real and it’s coming down heavily now. It was sunny in the morning, but clouds and fogs came over the mountain quickly, and snow appeared around noon. Wind is picking up, too. It’s expected to snow through tomorrow. The drive home this afternoon will be a mess. Typical Colorado weather, eh?!

It’s a beautiful view from my office window right now. I wish I have brought my camera with me.

UPDATED:  I just checked the local news, and here comes another shocking news: Residental streets with less than 6 inches of snow won’t get plow. This is due to city budget shortage.

The drive home was slow, slip-n-slide. The streets were empty around 5PM as most people went home around 2PM.  The wind caused ice frozen on the street and everything else.  Thank God we got home safely!

UPDATED 2:

The next day, snow accumulates about 4-6inches. Wind is stiff off and on. It’s freezing cold.  My hands are frozen from being outside at the gas pump. The city is in 2-hour delay. Most of the schools, churches are closed, and activities are cancelled. I went to work late this morning as well. I took my camera with me today, and snapped a few shots on the drive to work.  Think of “stupid one-handed driver on an icy road” all you want, but I was on 4-wheel-drive, and drove slowly. Other cars weren’t near me. I was away behind that only pack of cars you see in the picture. They probably tried to stay away from the crazy man  chasing after them, driving and operating camera  at the same time… hehehe. It took like 40 minutes to get to work today.

  1. hahahah Don’t go out the street if it has less than 6 inches of snow, due to city duget shortage. How about that? hahahah Everything is cut now. Maybe including human life. That should be a joke, shouldn’t it? I have some clients cancel appointments today. It is beautiful, but suck for going out. Hopefully you have a 4WD to go home. Or, drive careful.
