Grace has a habit of finding all possible ways to delay her bedtime. She is in half-day Kindergarten so she usually takes nap in the afternoon. We’re not really concerned that she doesn’t get enough sleep, but we just want her to be able wake up early in the morning without feeling all tired. She always asks for few minutes to snooze in when we wake her up in in the morning.
Another spring snowstorm made a visit last night. Snow covered the ground, cars and rooftop, but it wasn’t too bad yet. We are expected 1-2 feet of snow through tomorrow. I woke Grace up, and she just immediately got down from the bed and matched straight to the bathroom. Hmm, interesting!! I switched on the TV and saw many of closures, including her school district. “Grace, you have a snow day today! No school for today” I told her, and thought she would be excited for a snowday, like any regular kids… ha ha ha. But, she sounded disappointed from the bathroom: “But .. it’s a popcorn day today!“ Grace has asthma symptom, just as I did before my teen years. The popcorn flakes will cause her to cough, so we usually don’t let her eat too much popcorn. But she likes them! Her school usually has the popcorn fundraising events every few months. Students can buy popcorn for $0.25/bag, limits 2.
So, it was the Popcorn!!! That was her motivation for school that she was so eager to get up early. Ha ha ha! What is your motivation for getting up every morning? Foods? Loved ones?
