A man prayed to God and asked God to grant him the abilibty to be patient. His prayer was:  “Dear God, I need to learn to be patient to understand what You are doing in my life. I am asking You Lord to grant me this patience, and I want it now!!! ” I laughed at this joke as my friend told me, but at the same time, I am this man so many times.

God inspires me to learn guitar and He has helped me making lots of progress. I was able to play several worship songs last 2 Sunday services.  All I think now is about guitar, and music styles that it plays. I’m just in love with it,  but I just wish that I could play it well. There are so many styles, many songs that I wish I were able to play them, like right now!!  Oh I just wish…

"I wish I were a tall tree now!"

"I wish I were a tall tree now!"

There are so many things that I just want them to happen NOW, bypassing all the time waiting, the pain, the hard works.

I wish summer is right NOW!
I wish I loose weights and in excellent shape NOW!
I wish I have the musical talent NOW!
I wish I have my degree NOW!
I wish my boss gives me a raise or bonus NOW!
I wish my long-term investments mature NOW!
… NOW!  …

Don’t you have any NOW wishes?

For He is the amazing Creator,  who simply spoke of words “Let there be..,”,  and heaven and earth were formed.  ”With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Matthew 19:26). There’s no doubt in the almighty power and authority of God that He’s able to grant our wish in an instant.  Unfortunately, for many of our requests or wishes, they aren’t fulfilled overnight.  Many times, God doesn’t grant our wishes  immediately or at all, leaving us to wonder why.  But He has reasons, for He knows what’s best for us.

God does not allow us to take the shortcuts because there’s a purpose for taking that long road. We might cheat our way through, but in the end we are not gaining anything.  By taking the challenge, patiently, we will eventually achieve not the ultimate goal, but also gain many other benefits in the process. No pain, no gain!

So, I need to be patient, and keep aiming for the goal, to discover many other exciting rewards that would come along. Oh I just can’t wait!!!  :)

also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.  (Roman 5:3-5)
