Guitar Journal: New String Set

I got a new set of D’Addario EXL string for my guitar and put them on last night. I love it. It sounds great, very warm and especially it has softer feel in compare to the generic Martin string I previously got from Target. I now use the custom-light gauge. The strings are coated for extended play, and conveniently color-coded for ease of installation. Very nice. The D’Addario EXL strings were on sale with Buy-One-Get-One promotion, so it was an awesome deal.

I grabbed couple thin picks for spares, too!

Drills:

  1. A - A7 – AMaj7 – Am – Am7 – A(dim) – A (aug) – A(sus) – A(sus2)
  2. Hammer on
  3. Pentatonic scale fingering

Currently practicing on these songs (Yeah, I can’t focus on just one)

  1. I Give You My Heart (This Is My Desire) – Hillsong
  2. To The End of The Earth – Hillsong
  3. We Want To See Jesus Lifted High – ???
  4. I Wanna Sing – Scott Krippayne

  1. Hey, I love to learn guitar. I have one @ home. I also have self study book. Well, I tried couple pages, then let the guitar sit in a corner of the house for 3 years now. To me, playing guitar is harder than playing keyboard. I played keyboard in VN for 3 years. Well, I was just a kid, knew nothing better than play. So, the keyboard was sold by my parents after I stop playing for a year. Now, I regret I did not practice more to play better. This is one of The Three Things in Life. I really like to hear guitar. So, keep up with good work, you and Petter. :) )

  2. Thanks for the encouragement. That great that you could play keyboard. I hope you will find the time and passion to get back to playing the music soon. Blessing!
