A few months back, I asked my teacher about what should I look into buying an electric guitar. He answered with a question (yeah, don’t you hate that?! Ha ha ha… It always makes you think) ”How serious are you in playing?“ For further explanation, he said if I am serious about playing guitar then I should spend money on good quality guitars, which usually are expensive. If I am not very serious, then I could get just about any electric guitar that I could afford, and some guitars even are under 100 bucks. So, I put off the idea of buying an electric guitar, thinking I might not ready for it yet.
I’ve been continually practicing and playing on my trusty good old acoustic guitar. At some point I would like to purchase an electric guitar, a good one. I gotta save up because they are just so darn expensive. But today, I saw an Epiphone Limited Edition Les Paul Studio Deluxe electric guitar, comes with the Epiphone hardshell case, went one sale for nearly half the original price. Many reviewers seem to be very happy and satisfied with the quality of this guitar (and the case, too). It sounds great, with or without effects, and holds the tune well. Some said the fret is smooth, and the pickup is excellent. It’s hard buying guitar online since I can’t test it, but somehow I feel I trust these many reviewers and want to take their word for it. I asked my teacher for his opinion, and he also said it was a good deal, and thought Epiphone is a good brand, good value.
So with Thao’s approval, I purchased it. I’m very excited but also nervous because even though it’s on sale, it’s still a lot of money. I now could only hope I am serious about playing guitar as I think I am. No, I better be serious!!! That’s a big investment right there! Even my Play Station 3, my mean for entertainment, doesn’t even cost as much. If it’s costly, then I guess there’s no point in letting it sits and collects dust in the corner, right?! Yeah, keep remind me that.
Anyway, I’ll keep you posted when I receive it, or probably after I give it to the shop to replace the new set of strings and tune it up. Meanwhile, check out the stock picture. It’s a beauty, ain’t it??!
