Need New Set of Strings

Sorry, it’s been a while since my last update with my guitar progress. I am still keeping up with guitar practices and lessons. It’s still my joy. I just haven’t had time to post.

Recently I bought a set of Ernie Ball 2006 Earthwood acoustic string based on excellent reviews from people, besides the fact that it was on sale for about $5.  I currently had the D’Addario EXP set on mine. I tried 2 different gauges and the custom light guage sounded great, but the light gauge didn’t sound as good.  Strange!! So today, I was replacing the strings with the Ernie Ball, and got half-way through then … Bam!! the G-string (of the guitar, mind you! LOL) snapped!!  I haven’t even tighten it yet. I was excited trying on the new set, and now it left me disappointed. Not sure what’s up with the string, or the fact that it’s 2006 model, maybe?!!  Now, I don’t have a spare set, and the old string is too short to put back on.  I have to rush to the store tonight to get a new set so I can get it setup for tomorrow lesson.

I liked the sounds of my teacher’s acoustic guitar. I asked him what strings he used, and he recommended the Elixir Nanoweb.  Just few days ago, Guitar Strings and Beyond sent me  email with their special that has 3-set Elixir Nanoweb acoustic for $29.95. I checked local shop, and they have it at $15 a set.  This is a good deal, so I order 3 sets.  If you are looking for strings, you should definitely check out their website at http://www.stringsandbeyond.com. I ordered strings and picks from them before, and their service is speedy. They gave you free picks and stuff. Another nice thing  about Guitar Strings and Beyond is they’re supporting fellow Christians and Worship Leaders by other the 5% discount code with code “Jesus_Christ”.  I don’t know whether the owner is a Christian or not, but that’s pretty great thing to do to support the Christian community.  Though you can see several Christian-related merchandises such as T-Shirts, picks, straps … on their website.

Anyway, I got couple string sets shipping out, but I’m bummed out that I have wasted $5 on the Ernie Ball set and have to shell out another $15 to get a new strings  tonight. Oh well, at least I now have couple spare sets with me ready I guess.
